Rawlings Custom Glove Builder Adds 8 New Web Styles

The variety and versatility of Rawlings' webs is unmatched. From the classic Basket web to the popular Trap-Eze web, Rawlings continues to raise the bar in meeting the needs of every position on the field.

As you build your ideal glove using  Rawlings' new custom glove builder, check out these web styles:

V Web: This is a V-shaped web with reinforced bottom and top. New to Rawlings, it has a greater surface area to help prevent ball spin when fielding ground balls. It is ideal for infield gloves sized 11”-12”.

Single Post Double Bar: This web incorporates a single vertical bar with two horizontal bars. It forms a snug, secure pocket that allows the ball to stick and not bounce. It is available for outfield gloves sized 12.5”-12.75”.

Vertical Hinge/Vertical Hinge Basket: This web is a closed-web style with two vertical hinges that allow the web to flex when making a catch. The hinges also help push out the web, which provides more space for a pitcher to grip the ball while hiding that grip from players on base. This solid web is ideal for pitchers, as it prevents batters from seeing the grip too. The difference between the two webs is that the Basket version has a small, crisscross leather web in the middle of the hinges. These are available on pitcher’s gloves sized 11.75”-12.25”.

Modified Single Post: This web is similar to the standard Single Post except the vertical post on this web is widened to prevent balls from slipping through the openings of the web. This web is easier to close and allows for quicker break-in. It is available for infield gloves sized 11”-12”.

Modified Trap with Loops: This web is similar to the standard Modified Trap web except the web itself is enclosed in an exterior piece of leather. This helps prevent damage to the leather surrounding the web. It is ideal for utility players who need a web that can be used at many positions. It is available for gloves sized 11”-12.5”.

Y Post: This web is a mixture of the Pro H and Single Post webs. It has a single post that starts at the top with two points like a Pro H and ends at the bottom with a single thicker post. The web itself looks like a capital Y. It provides stability and secures the ball in the web while preventing the ball from bouncing out. This new web style is available for gloves sized 12.5”-12.75”.

Modified Pro H (for first base mitts): This first base web incorporates two vertical and two horizontal bars. This extra-secure web forms a snug pocket to help prevent balls from bouncing out. It is available in first base mitt sizes 12”-12.5” and 13”.

Then watch this news section for more details on all of the new glove builder features. Among them:
