Face Up to 80 MPH Pitch Speeds With Rawlings' S80 Performance Rating Helmet

Rawlings' Performance Rating™ for batting helmets makes it easy to choose the right one.

For pitch speeds at or below 80 miles per hour, try Rawlings' 80 MPH batting helmet with matte finish (model number S80X1AM).

The helmet features Rawlings' exclusive COOLFLO® XVI™ helmet design and Heat Exchange™ technologies.

COOLFLO XV1™ front vents allow for 30 percent more cool air ventilation. Heat Exchange™ vents rapidly circulate cooler ambient air. Top vents quickly move heated air from player’s head, allowing 70 percent more heat to escape.

This helmet has dual ear flaps and is made for high school and elite youth players.

A Rawlings' Performance Rating™ of S80 provides added protection to players just beginning to face advanced pitching in their varsity and travel ball games. The current NOCSAE® standard equates to 68 MPH baseball pitch speeds.

Rawlings' Performance Rating™ can be found on the rear of the helmet and in the interior crown padding.

The enhanced ABS plastic shell with matte paint finish is available in black, dark green, navy, royal, scarlet, and white.

Available sizes are: S (6-7/8 to 7), M (7-1/8 to 7-1/4), L (7-3/8 to 7-1/2) and XL (7-5/8 to 7-3/4).

The helmet is not predrilled for a face mask.

• NOCSAE® baseball batting helmet standards involve tests of baseballs fired from a cannon at 60 mph at a distance of 2 ft, which is roughly equivalent to an impact resulting from a pitch speed of 68 mph at a distance of 60 ft.
• The Rawlings Performance Rating™ System is based on pitch speeds at a distance of 60 ft.
• NOCSAE® standards require that a batting helmet withstand all test impacts at an established peak severity index (SI). Helmets also must survive all test protocols substantially intact and ready for use.
• The NOCSAE® standard is aimed at reducing the risk of skull fractures. The standard has not been correlated with reducing the risk of concussions from such impacts.

WARNING: Severe head or neck injury, including paralysis or death may occur to you despite using this helmet. No helmet can prevent all head injuries or any neck injuries a player might receive while participating in baseball or softball.

Rawlings Improves Its 5150 BBCOR Bat

When it comes to alloy bats, Rawlings says it best—“BBCOR bats deliver when hitters need it most: every at bat, every time.”

Rawlings' 5150 Alloy BBCOR bat (model number BB5150) leads that charge. The introduction of the Comp-Lite end cap has given it greater balance than previous models.

The end cap lowers the moment of inertia (MOI) to maximize swing speed.

This bat also features Precision-Optimized Performance™ barrel technology (pOp™). This technology isolates the weight of the bat in a small region of the barrel for better trampoline effect and barrel flex.

The 1-piece 5150 frame is Rawlings' most durable and highest-performing alloy. Rawlings developed its own metal-forming process to create its 5150 BBCOR bats. This process allows for precise wall thickness, resulting in maximum pop.

Made for the high school and college levels, this bat is 0.50 BBCOR certified.

Look for it in lengths ranging from 30” to 34”, all with a -3 drop.

A 1 year warranty is available.

Check out all of Rawlings' BBCOR-approved high school/collegiate bats at Rawlings' official online store.
