• NOCSAE® baseball batting helmet standards involve tests of baseballs fired from a cannon at 60 mph at a distance of 2 ft, which is roughly equivalent to an impact resulting from a pitch speed of 68 mph at a distance of 60 ft.
• The Rawlings Performance Rating™ System is based on pitch speeds at a distance of 60 ft.
• NOCSAE® standards require that a batting helmet withstand all test impacts at an established peak severity index (SI). Helmets also must survive all test protocols substantially intact and ready for use.
• The NOCSAE® standard is aimed at reducing the risk of skull fractures. The standard has not been correlated with reducing the risk of concussions from such impacts.

WARNING: Severe head or neck injury, including paralysis or death may occur to you despite using this helmet. No helmet can prevent all head injuries or any neck injuries a player might receive while participating in baseball or softball.

Flat-Seam Baseballs Debut in the 2015 College Season

Rawlings has released its new baseballs with flat-seam technology to prepare for the 2015 college baseball season.

The NCAA (Divisions I through III) and the NAIA have officially adopted and will begin using Rawlings flat-seam baseballs starting in February 2015.

The change comes about following Rawlings research showing an average 26-foot increase in flat-seam baseball distances compared with raised-seam baseballs. The NCAA’s own independent testing verified Rawlings’ conclusions.

According to the NCAA, the switch to Rawlings flat-seam baseballs will not compromise players’ health and protection because the increases in distance (due to less drag on the ball) do not change the baseball’s C.O.R. or bat-exit speed.

Flat-seam baseballs have a seam height of .031 inches. Baseballs with raised seams have a seam height of .048 inches.

Rawlings has introduced three new baseballs with flat-seam technology:

·         NCAA Official Baseball (model number FSR1NCAA)
·         NAIA Official Baseball (model number FSR100NAIA)
·         High School Official League Baseball (model number FSR100)

These baseballs also feature:

  • Extra Innings Technology (EIT), which last 15 percent longer with the same consistency and moisture protection
  • A full-grain leather cover for added durability
  • A cushioned cork center
  • 85 percent wool windings
  • Core Bond™ adhesive

Visit Rawlings' official online store or contact a Rawlings Customer Care representative at 866-678-GEAR(4327) for more information on the new Rawlings Flat Seam baseballs.

Rawlings Reboots Its HOH Dual Core 12.75” Glove

Check out this old favorite with an all-new lace color.

Rawlings' Heart of the Hide Dual CoreTM 12.75” glove (model number PRO601DCB) features the Trap-Eze web and the Fastback. It replaces model number PRO601DCC.

Rawlings has added camel-colored lacing to this black leather glove for the new season.

“My son had been using an 11.5-inch Rawlings Gold Glove for three years and needed to move up to a larger size for outfield. He is now 15 years old. With the myriad of gloves out there, we stuck with Rawlings and moved up to Heart of the Hide: our third Rawlings. With a little glove oil, this baby was field ready before the first game,” wrote Rawlings customer DiDiBall in an online review, adding, “Rawlings rocks!”

Rawlings' patented Dual CoreTM technology gives the glove position-specific break points that allow the glove to close naturally and easily.

The Heart of the Hide leather used in Dual CoreTM gloves is tanned softer than other leathers, and the gloves have an oil-injected exterior to make breaking in your glove easy.

This 12.75” glove is made with the Trap-Eze web, also known as the “six-finger” glove. The web is part of the glove, not separate from it, allowing for maximum strength.

It is available for left-handed players as model number PRO601DCB-RH.

Visit our official online store or contact a Rawlings Customer Care representative at 866-678-GEAR(4327) to order your next Rawlings Heart of the Hide 12.75” glove.
