Better Performance from the Rawlings 5150 X-Treme Performance Bats

Maximize your offensive statistics by going to X-Tremes—Start swinging with Rawlings’ 5150 X-Treme Performance Composite Bat.

Rawlings 5150 aluminum bats are the ultimate combination of speed, power and control. The X-Treme Performance bat is no different.

X-Treme Performance bats are hotter than other composite bats, giving the batter the potential to hit the ball 20 to 40 feet farther each swing.

Rawlings accomplished this by building a longer barrel with a multiwall design, creating the largest, most responsive sweet spot on the field.

The X-Treme Performance bat has a 100% composite frame. The Senior League bat has a –9 drop, and the Youth Baseball bat has a –11 drop. It is approved for play in all youth leagues.

Rawlings is committed to helping all hitters find the bat that is perfect for them. With that in mind, the X-Treme Performance bat is Sci-Fly designed and certified and Speed Cap compatible.

Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at 866-678-GEAR(4327) for more information on X-Treme Performance bats.

Rawlings “Blem” Bats Are a Great Value at a Discount Price

Get a great deal on your next wood bat by purchasing a Rawlings’ “blem” bat.

“Blem” or blemished bats are available when bats with a minor cosmetic inconsistency are produced.

These blemishes can be a paint discoloration, a paint run, a smudge, a logo that is off-center, a stencil outline of the logo that is too low or too high or a minor paint nick, but all of these bats still meet Rawlings’ high standards for quality. The integrity of a blemished bat is never compromised.

Leecounty of North Carolina bought a blem bat on sale for $29.95 and had the following to say in an online review: “I've used (the bat) mostly in the batting cages so far and have had no problem with it.”

Although the bat will perform to its capacity, the manufacturer’s warranty does not apply.

Blem bats are maple or ash. They have the word “BLEM” written on the barrel.

Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) for great deals on blem bats.

Rawlings Pro Preferred 2-Tone Gloves Truly Are the Pros’ Choice

When Rawlings calls a glove Pro Preferred, they mean it. Just look at a small sample of MLB players who call Rawlings’ Pro Preferred 2-Tone gloves their own:

Chase Utley, Adrian Beltre, Geovanny Soto, Bobby Abreu, Juan Rivera, Justin Upton, J.D. Drew, Jacoby Ellsbury, Curtis Granderson, Colby Rasmus, Ramon Vasquez, Brendan Ryan, Rich Aurilia, Ty Wigginton, Juan Francisco, Doug Mientkiewicz, and many more.

Rawlings’ Pro Preferred 2-Tone gloves are made from the finest leather—Kip skin leather with the Bruciatocolor leather. These supple leathers allow players (amateur and pro alike) to break in the glove to their preference, and the glove will keep its shape.

Two leather colors give each glove a unique appearance.

These gloves may take a little longer to break in, but they are definitely worth the work.

“I bought this glove over the 2009 summer and used it in the same season. It broke in beautifully and I shaped it to my opinion of perfection in no time. It's comfortable and looks even better on the field. I fell in love with the Trap-Eze webbing,” wrote bamate23 of Boston in an online review.

“I bought this glove in black five years ago and it’s still one of the best investments. I still can’t wait to play catch with it; it’s a great glove,” Jihan of Los Angeles wrote of the 11.25” glove.

Rawlings’ Pro Preferred 2-Tone gloves are available in several models, including infielder’s gloves, outfielder’s gloves and a catcher's mitt.

Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) for more information on Rawlings’ Pro Preferred 2-Tone gloves.

Rawlings 5-Tool Training Gloves Will Improve Fielding, Hands Down

Soft hands, quick hands, good hand-eye coordination—when it comes to fielding it’s all about your hands.

Develop that infielder’s touch with training gloves from Rawlings’ 5-Tool Training Program.

Rawlings’ has designed two gloves to improve your fielding skills, the Pro Trainer and the Quik Hands Trainer.

The Pro Trainer is an undersized glove made for adult hands. At 9.5” in length, it is made to practice hand-eye coordination and develop quick hands.

This glove forces fielders to stay down on ground balls with both their head and hands and also to move their feet. It encourages soft hands and immediately begins to eliminate bad habits.

The Pro Trainer glove is available at RawlingsGear.com under style number PROTRAIN.

The Quik Hands Trainer is a foam pad that is contoured to fit your palm and can be used during practice to teach soft hands.

This trainer helps fielders learn to transition the ball from glove to throwing hand quickly and smoothly. It is made from high-durability foam for lasting performance.

The Quik Hands Trainer is available at RawlingsGear.com under style number QUIKHANDS.

These training gloves are also available as part of several bundled packages that focus on all areas of the 5-Tool Training Program.

Every 5-Tool Training product includes drills and instructions to help you improve your baseball performance. The program was developed by Rawlings and Ripken Baseball.

Rawlings’ Padding Zone Technology Makes for a Better Basketball

As the game of basketball has evolved, so has the equipment. If you want a durable indoor basketball with a better grip, go with Rawlings’ line of basketballs with Padded Zone Technology.

Rawlings patented Padded Zone Technology with the intent of making basketballs with improved grip and durability, so they designed deeper channels and gave the ball a softer feel.

The exclusive Padded Zone Technology is used in Rawlings’ Franchise, Truth, Vision, Pulse and Edge basketballs.

The technology is centered on a neoprene foam layer that is hand-laid between the cover and the carcass layer of the basketball. This special polymer gives each basketball a consistent feel and great performance.

At the collegiate level, Rawlings basketballs are the official basketballs of the NJCAA Men’s and NAIA Championships. They meet specifications for game use in the NCAA.

Rawlings basketballs are also the official balls for AAU, YBOA, NJB and Gus Macker.

Rawlings Carries Several Lines of BESR-Certified Bats, Required by NCAA and NHFS

Safety is a concern in any sport, not just baseball. But whether you have a child playing ball or you play in your own league, it’s always safe to choose Rawlings’ BESR-certified bats.

BESR is the official safety certification issued for non-wood bats used in the NCAA and NHFS. It stands for ball exit speed ratio.

The Baseball Research Center is the official certification center for the NCAA and NHFS, and each bat used in those leagues must pass testing at the center to receive the BESR certification.

Testing the BESR of a bat is a measure of the “liveliness” of the ball off the bat. Testers at the research center measure the performance of the bat under controlled conditions and assign a number to it. For a bat to be certified, that number must fall at or below the value set by the NCAA.

Rawlings has several lines of bats that have received the BESR certification:

• 5150 Exogrid
• 5150 Composite
• 5150 Alloy
• 5150 Exogrid
• 5150 Hybrid
• Rush Gold Lite
• Plasma
• Velocity
• Fuel

Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) for more information on bats with the BESR certification.

Rawlings’ Trap-Eze Web: The Outfielders’ Preference

Looking for a glove with the strength to help you snag those just-out-of-reach line drives? Then go with the outfielders’ choice, a glove with the Trap-Eze web.

Rawlings’ Trap-Eze web is the only web that is actually an extension of the glove itself. Lacing on two sides of the web creates a center that naturally closes around the ball. That’s why it is known as the “six finger” glove.

The web is part of the glove, not separate from it, allowing for maximum strength.

The web is the most popular choice for outfielders:

“There is a reason why Ken Griffey Jr. wears this glove ... It’s super!” wrote SluggoSTL of St. Louis in an online review.

“Highly recommended for any outfielder who wants to trap what he dives for," wrote CoachKat of Wentzville, Mo.

“By far the best glove I have owned. Great pocket and the structure of the Trap-Eze will snare any ‘snow cone’ on the run catch!” ssinga of Atlanta wrote. “Gloves are so personal but I get compliments on it all the time when someone else puts it on.”

The Trap-Eze web is available in Primo, Pro Preferred, Heart of the Hide, Gold Gloves and Sandlot gloves.

Rawlings patented the Trap-Eze web in 1959 but has been designing quality webs since 1948. Today, Rawlings has a complete line of webs customized to meet the fielding needs of players at each position.

Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) for more information on gloves with the Trap-Eze web.

By Keeping It Light, Pro Mesh Series Gloves Perform

Rawlings Gear is proud to feature the Pro Mesh Series glove, a welcome addition to Rawlings’ famous Heart of the Hide line of gloves.

Gloves in this series showcase an ideal combination of weight and performance.

The glove’s backing is a high-end mesh that is specially designed to make it lighter and more breathable. This allows the fielder to react quicker and be more mobile.

GunnersBaseball of Elk Grove, Calif., recently left an online review of the Pro Mesh glove: "I just picked this glove up this week and it already feels great. This is my first mesh glove and it is way lighter than some of the other HoH gloves I have had.”

Combining this mesh backing with Rawlings Heart of the Hide leather makes for a durable glove that provides the level of performance one would expect from a Rawlings glove.

Many pros play with this glove.

"This is an excellent glove with excellent material and cushion. If it is good enough for Jorge Posada of the Yankees, then it is definitely good enough for the rest of us average Joes and other amateur/professional league players,” EnigmaPhi of Queens, N.Y., wrote in an online review.

Heart of the Hide Pro Mesh gloves are available in six models, including infielder’s gloves, outfielder’s gloves and a catcher's mitt.

Let Science Find Your Perfect Bat with Rawlings’ Sci-Fly System

At last, Rawlings has revolutionized the way a hitter chooses a bat.

Rawlings has proudly unveiled the Sci-Fly bat fitting and analysis system, which, for the first time, allows hitters to scientifically identify the bat that matches their swing style.

Sci-Fly is a radar that measures flight data from a batted ball to recommend the best Rawlings bat for the hitter. Data is collected on hit speed, launch angle, spin rate, hit distance and much more and fed into Rawlings’ proprietary Ball Flight and Hitting Analysis System. A hitter uses several different bats so data can be compared to identify the perfect bat.

Currently available for use with the Rawlings 5150 bat series, Sci-Fly technology can help you take your game to the next level.

It’s the science of pure performance. The numbers don’t lie.

To schedule a Sci-Fly fitting session, e-mail ccruz@rawlings.com. Fittings are by appointment only and may not be available in your area.

Do’s and Don’ts of Glove Care

Just like any other tool, your ball glove works best if you take good care of it.

Rawlings offers the following tips to make sure your glove is in fine condition as long as you need it:

• Do keep a ball in your glove when you are not using it.
• Do condition your glove occasionally to prevent drying and cracking.
• Do wear a batting glove to keep sweat from drying and cracking the leather inside your glove.
• Do tighten your laces routinely because leather could occasionally loosen.
• Do condition your glove with Rawlings Glovolium leather treatment oil.
• Don’t submerge your glove in water because you run a risk of cracking it or and drying it out.
• Don’t put your glove in the oven or microwave.
• Don’t dry your glove using a heat source such as a hair dryer.
• Don’t buy a pre-broken-in glove. They are not as durable and will not last as long.

Over time, any glove will begin to break down. Rawlings offers a wide variety of gloves with the latest features to suit your unique needs. However, if you’re too attached to your old glove to purchase your next Rawlings glove, you can have it repaired or restored.

For this service, Rawlings Gear recommends Kenny Jenkins Glove Repair, (417) 683-2207 or kennyjenkins@hotmail.com. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central time.

Purchase a Glove That’s Built to Last with Rawlings

Some of us name our ball gloves. Some of us call them our good-luck charm. Some of us even sleep with them under our mattress.

Rawlings knows how much a player can care about his or her glove, and we can help you choose the best glove for your needs.

First things first: the glove material. It’s easy to get blinded by the flashiness of synthetic materials, but leather is the way to go, and Rawlings knows. Rawlings has been making leather gloves since 1877.

Leather gloves are more durable than those that are made from synthetic materials, and leathers have no memory, so you can shape the glove yourself and form the pocket to your playing preference.

Rawlings has more than 400 models of gloves available today that are made with several types of leather. Only the best 5 percent of leather is used in Rawlings’ top lines—Primo, Pro Preferred and Heart of the Hide.

“The Primo takes it to the next level. The glove leather is unlike any other,” JPOC of New York wrote in an online review.

Other popular lines of Rawlings gloves are Sandlot, Renegade and Gold Glove, and they are available in a variety of sizes and prices.

Rawlings is proud to produce baseball and softball gloves that are built to last.

Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) to purchase your new glove.

Rawlings’ Zoombang Compression Shirts Help Dissipate Shock

In contact sports, having an extra layer of protection can be the difference between an injury and just a hard hit. That’s why Rawlings has created Zoombang compression shirts.

Rawlings' Zoombang compression shirts absorb up to 80% of impact forces and dissipate energy and shock from hits while still being lightweight and flexible.

Parents of youth football players say the shirts have helped. “I purchased this shirt for my son under his football coach's advisement because he had a shoulder injury. He tried it out at practice and said it made a huge difference when blocking,” caar wrote in an online review.

Zoombang equipment was developed through collaboration with respected professional trainers, equipment managers and professional athletes. The unique Zoombang viscoelastic polymer is a semi-solid, plastic-like material that is extremely soft at rest and conforms to any shape but instantly behaves as a solid on impact.

In Rawlings' Zoombang shirts, the polymer is strategically placed at the shoulders and around the ribs.

Rawlings' Zoombang compression shirts are sold in adult and youth sizes. See the sizing chart to determine your size.

Rawlings also carries a line of compression girdles with Zoombang polymers for football players.

Leave it to Rawlings to remain on the cutting edge of sports technology.

Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) to purchase your Zoombang compression shirt.
