Rawlings S100P Batting Helmet Now Has Better Technology, Slimmer Fit

Rawlings has made the smartest helmet in baseball even sharper.

The S100P batting helmet features better technology and a slimmer look for 2011.

The helmet features a multiple impact liner for added protection and PORON® XRD™ material, which creates a unique protective shield that can absorb up to 90 percent of the most intense force.

A special insert provides durability in critical spots a ball may strike the helmet.

All of this adds up to a helmet that can withstand ball speeds of 100 mph.

“I play in the MABL/MSBL, and even though I'm over 50, most of the players in my local area are in the 20-35 age range. Some of the pitchers throw in the 80 mph range, and I feel well protected with this helmet," wrote Viejo54 in a recent online review at RawlingsGear.com.

S100P sizing is designed to provide a snug fit. Players may want to move up a size if they prefer a less snug fit, but a batting helmet should always be worn so that it stays in the correct position as all times.

The S100P helmet also has a three-year limited warranty that covers abnormal defects to the shell, liner and padding.

The S100P batting helmet is the official helmet of Minor League Baseball.

My son bought one to prevent injury and was hit by a 74mph pitch and was taken off field with a concussion. Waiting to hear from rawlings.
