How to Choose a Third Baseman's Glove
Glove control dominates the hot corner.
Here are some tips for selecting your Rawlings third baseman's glove:
• A third baseman's glove should be a medium to large glove with a shallow to mid-size pocket that allows you to turn double plays easily and comfortably.
• If you try a mid-size Rawlings glove for third base, make sure you can handle bunts efficiently. If bunts prove troublesome, drop the mid-size and go with a smaller glove.
• An open web will let you get to the ball more quickly on bunts and scoops.
Glove with a Pro H web, such as the Pro Preferred 11.75 inch 2-Tone glove (model number PROS17HC2T) and the Heart of the Hide 11.75 inch Dual Core glove (model number PRO17HDC), make excellent third baseman's gloves.
A RawlingsGear.com customer from Tatum, Texas, recently left an online review to express his excitement about his new Heart of the Hide glove: “This glove is everything I thought it would be. Excellent quality and a perfect fit. I plan to use it a long time.”
Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) for more information on third baseman's gloves.

Let Your Rawlings Workhorse Batting Gloves Do the Work
Who knew your team's true workhorses are your batting gloves!
Rawlings' 1050 Workhorse batting gloves are constructed with Pittards Oiltac leather and Pro-Dri mesh, which both work to prevent the absorption of moisture into the gloves and give you your most comfortable grip on the bat.
Rawlings' Dura Plus palm pad gives you added protection on your palm.
Workhorse batting gloves are made with precurved fingers and a neoprene closure for flexibility.
Jwe42 recently purchased Rawlings' Workhorse batting gloves. In a review at RawlingsGear.com, he wrote: "When you pull them over your hand, they feel comfortable without restricting any movement of your hand. The palm has a solid and firm grip. The best experience came when my gloves ripped at the seams after having them for about three weeks. When I contacted Rawlings Gear, they shipped a new pair to me and (the package) was on my door within three days. Outstanding customer service and a great quality product; you can't go wrong with them."
Rawlings' 1050 Workhorse batting gloves are available in a variety of colors. They come in adult and youth sizes and for baseball and softball. They are available only in pairs.

Who Doesn't Love Their Heart of the Hide Glove
Since 1958, Rawlings' Heart of the Hide gloves have been making pros, amateurs and anyone who takes the field look good.
The Heart of the Hide line features three series: Heart of the Hide Pro Mesh, Heart of the Hide and Heart of the Hide Dual Core.
Every one of those gloves is handcrafted from the top 5 percent of steer hides.
HOH steer hide leather tends to be the prime cut or center portion of the smaller hide and is usually thicker than other leathers. The leather from the center area of the hide typically has less stretch, resulting in a firm glove that is easier to shape. The top-grade leather allows the glove to mold to the player’s hand for a proper feel, yet it maintains the durability needed to play at the highest level.
HOH Pro Mesh gloves are an ideal combination of weight and performance. The glove’s backing is a high-end mesh that is specially designed to make it lighter and more breathable. This allows the fielder to react quicker and be more mobile.
HOH gloves are the choice of the baseball purist. Constructed from the best materials, these gloves need to be broken in to the player's exact preference, but once they are, they continue to perform, year after year.
HOH Dual Core gloves are game ready because the leather is tanned softer and the gloves have an oil-injected exterior. Rawlings' patented Dual Core technology gives each glove position-specific break points.
To this day, Rawlings' Heart of the Hide line represents one the finest, and most popular, glove lines in baseball.

Rawlings Uses Custom Player Technology™ to Make a Glove for Everyone
Rawlings' Custom Player Technology™, integrated into its new REVO SOLID CORE™ glove series, creates a specialized pocket in every glove to fit the way you play the game.
Combined with the glove's construction, Custom Player Technology™ allows you to match your fielding style to the deep-pocket, standard-pocket or flat-pocket pattern that will improve your fielding performance.
Deep pocket designs work best for players who catch the ball one-handed and who want their glove to break between their thumb and ring or little fingers. Pitchers, third basemen and outfielders typically choose gloves with deep pockets.
Standard pocket designs are created for players who catch with one hand but don't want a deep pocket. These gloves break between the thumb and index or middle fingers. This is the most popular pattern for shortstops.
Flat pocket designs are for fielders who consistently use two hands when fielding and need a shallow pocket to get the ball out of their glove as quickly as possible. They want their glove to break between their fingers and palm. Second basemen typically choose a flat pocket.
Custom Player Technology™ is used in all three lines of REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves: the 750 series, the 550 series and the 350 series.
Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) for more information on the Custom Player Technology™ in Rawlings' new REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves.

Fit, Feel and Function Found in Rawlings' REVO SOLID CORE Technology™
Rawlings' innovative REVO SOLID CORE Technology™, featured in its new REVO SOLID CORE™ glove series, gives you the fit, feel and function you want in your glove.
REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves fit your hand better than traditional gloves, allowing for ultimate control and comfort.
The laceless heel and pocket, along with a Revolutionary new style of layering each glove, feel game-ready off the shelf.
The player-specific design allows each glove to function in the unique way each player catches the ball.
Traditional gloves use a lining inside the shell held together by laces on the heel and the pocket. This type of construction creates stiffness, making the glove more difficult to close until it's broken in.
The REVO SOLID CORE Technology™ in Rawlings' REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves creates a preformed pocket that makes the glove more defined from the first day you use it.
Whether you choose the 750 series, the 550 series or the 350 series in Rawlings' REVO SOLID CORE™ glove line, you'll always find the right glove for you.
Visit RawlingsGear.com or contact a Rawlings Gear Customer Care representative at (866) 678-GEAR(4327) for more information on the REVO SOLID CORE Technology™ in Rawlings' new REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves.

Rawlings REVOlutionizes Glove Fit With New REVO SOLID CORE™ Gloves
Rawlings proudly introduces its most customized gloves yet—the REVO SOLID CORE™ glove series.
The REVO SOLID CORE™ series allows you to choose your glove by how you field the ball rather than simply by the position you play.
The REVO SOLID CORE Technology™ used in Rawlings' REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves features Opti-Fit™, which improves how the glove fits your hand and makes for better control of the glove. The laceless heel and pocket allow you to close the glove easier than a traditional glove.
The glove's Easy Break design and soft feel make breaking it in an afterthought.
To meet the needs of every different player, Rawlings has incorporated Custom Player Technology™ in its REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves. This innovative new way of choosing a glove matches each player's style of fielding the ball with a specific glove pattern.
If you want your glove to break between your fingers and palm, you'll want a flat-pocket pattern. If you want it to break between your thumb and index or middle finger, look for a standard pattern. If you want the break to occur between your thumb and ring or little finger, you'll choose a deep-pocket pattern.
Rawlings' REVO SOLID CORE™ glove series has been in the works for three years. The world's best glove craftsman, Akio Aoki, has been the engineer behind this major development.
REVO SOLID CORE™ gloves are available in three series: the 750 series, the 550 series, the 350 baseball series, and the 350 softball series.

Rawlings' Combat Shoulder Pads Feature Venti Light Technology
Rawlings keeps the Combat shoulder pads in the football line this year.
Combat shoulder pads feature the popular Venti Light pad technology with an outer layer of perforated, closed-cell EVA form laminated to a softer open-cell inner foam. Venti Light helps reduce overall pad weight but still provides great protection.
In addition to the Venti Light pad technology, highlights of Combat shoulder pads are:
• Flat pad construction for maximum range of motion and field vision. Flat pads must be worn tight to function properly.
• ½” and ¾” build-ups that create a clavicle channel for excellent shoulder protection.
• Single and double strap hook-ups.
Rawlings' Combat shoulder pads are ideal for varsity-level players. They are available in four adult designs:
• Style number CPQBL is made for quarterbacks, receivers, tight ends, linebackers, defensive backs and kickers. It is available in sizes S to 2XL.
• Style number CP36L is for linebackers, defensive backs and running backs. It comes in sizes S to 2XL.
• Style number CP46L is for tight ends, full backs, running backs, and linemen. It comes in sizes M to 3XL.
• Style number CP56L is for linemen and tight ends. It comes in sizes L to 3XL.
Rawlings Gear reminds all players that these pieces of protective equipment are designed to minimize the possibility of injury to the specific body part they cover. Use of this equipment does not guarantee that athletes will be protected from serious, disabling or permanent injury while playing football. Any modification or alteration without permission of manufacturer could reduce the protective capacity. Playing football or strenuous exercise while wearing this equipment in hot weather could result in heat exhaustion, heat stroke or even death.

No Matter Your Needs, Rawlings Gear Has the Ball
What is the difference in Rawlings' grades of baseballs?
It's a question Rawlings Gear Customer Care representatives are happy to explain.
Rawlings makes three grades of baseballs: Tournament grade, Competition grade and practice balls.
Rawlings' Tournament grade baseballs feature a full-grain leather cover and Extra Inning TechnologyTM for added durability, a cushioned cork center and raised seams for improved grip.
Tournament grade baseballs are a higher quality ball when compared with Competition grade balls. Tournament grade baseballs are made with the same cushioned cork center technology as Major League baseballs.
Official Tournament grade baseballs are used in USSSA, AAU, Little League, Senior Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, Pony League, Dixie Baseball League (Boys Majors and Youth), Dizzy Dean Baseball and many other leagues.
Rawlings' Competition grade baseballs feature a full-grain leather cover for added durability, a composite cork and rubber center and raised seams for improved grip.
Competition grade baseballs are made with a larger, coated cork center and provide a quality ball for everyday use.
Official Competition grade baseballs are made for USSSA, AAU, Little League, Senior Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, Pony League, Dixie Baseball League (Youth), Dizzy Dean Baseball and many other leagues.
Rawlings' practice baseballs may have minor cosmetic imperfections but still have a leather cover, cork center and raised seam for better grip and durability. These baseballs are perfect for training or practice to improve your performance in the field.
In addition to Rawlings' grades of baseballs, Rawlings Gear carries special event baseballs to commemorate the game’s greatest moments: the World Series, World Series champions, All Star Game, Home Run Derby, 2009 Twins Stadium, 2008 Closing Shea Stadium and many more. These limited edition baseballs are available at RawlingsGear.com.
Rawlings baseballs can be purchased individually, by the dozen or in buckets.

Rawlings Dual Core Gloves Make Break-In Easy
Spend less time breaking in your glove by choosing a Rawlings Dual Core glove.
Dual Core gloves are a top-selling series in Rawlings’ famous Heart of the Hide line of gloves.
The Heart of the Hide leather used in Dual Core gloves is tanned softer, and the gloves have an oil-injected exterior, features that make breaking in your new glove easier.
On average, the break-in breakdown for these gloves is 75 percent factory, 25 percent player.
In an online review at RawlingsGear.com, one satisfied glove owner called his Heart of the Hide 11.5 inch Dual Core baseball glove (model number PRO204DC) “beautiful.”
“I love this glove; easiest glove out of my three that I have had to break in. Highly recommend the heart of the hide leather!” wrote 9164baumand of Sterling, Ill.

Get a Better Pocket with Rawlings’ Pro I Web
If you're looking for a smaller, lighter web pattern in your glove, take a look at the Pro I web.
Originally known as the H web, Rawlings designed and patented the Pro I web in 1940.
The single post reinforced bottom web is popular with infielders, including pro second baseman Chase Utley and third baseman Adrian Beltre. Because the web does not tie to the crotch of the glove, the laces allow you to shape the pocket better.
Shermantx of Sherman, Texas, found his Pro Preferred 11.75 inch 2-Tone glove with Pro I web (model number PROS17IC2T) worth the money. In an online review at RawlingsGear.com, he wrote: "Very good glove, took a while to break in, but stands up well. Dirt goes through webbing easy. Doesn't lose shape like other gloves."
Gdbrog of Cypress, Texas, has been satisfied with his Rawlings Pro Series 11.5 inch glove with Pro I web (model number RPS115I): "I've worked with young kids for several years. I've also played second base on a softball tourney team. It broke in with little effort and is always ready to play. For the money ... it's a great quality glove. My friends don't believe I paid under $100 for it. I doubt I'll ever have to buy another one. Great glove, Rawlings!"
The web is the heart of the glove. It is the piece that connects the fingers and thumb of the glove and allows for secure control of the ball. Rawlings introduced lacing to the web in 1948 with the PM1 and now has a complete line of webs customized to meet the fielding needs of players at each position.
